This building which once was the haven of bureaucrats paid by Charles Taylor is now an appartment building for displaced Liberians. I can’t help but be all excited that the population has retaken ownership of this building. It’s chaotic, arnarchist, but is also serves as a warning to the new administration: DON’T SCREW UP! The Masonic Temple served as a refugee camp during the war. Located in the middle of Monrovia, it was conveniently close to the embassies and UN offices. The watchman informed me that the lodge is still active, despite significant structural damage to the building.
